Gay could opt out to become a free agent in the summer of 2017, at the same time the NBA's $24 billion TV deal kicks in. The extension begins in the 2015-16 season and has a player option for the 2017-18 season. Gay has one year left in his current deal, which pays him $19.3 for the 2014-15 season. Rudy Gay has reached an agreement with the Sacramento Kings on a three-year, $40 million contract extension, according to Yahoo Sports.
